Convention Brings Romance

Gerald and Ruth Levenston

There's nothing like a diamond ring to cinch a romance, but the story of Gerald Frederick Levenston and Rush (Ruth) Koenigsberg isn't the usual boy-meets-girl yarn.

They were married today in Vancouver's Court House after a whirlwind courtship that started just four days ago when they met at the Canadian Jewellers' Association Convention.

Both were delegates.

Mr. Levenston, a salesman with Baumgold Bros. of Canada Ltd., Toronto, happened to see Ruth, whose family owns Western Wholesale Jewelers, Vancouver. Love did the rest.

They are having a small wedding reception at Hotel Vancouver today and start their honeymoon on a T-CA plane tonight en route to Toronto, where they will make their home.

"The most interesting convention I've ever attended," commented Mr. Levenston. His bride agreed.

Discussions at the Jewellers' convention in this city led a pair of delegates to try out wedding rings. Ruth Koenigsberg, daughter of Maurice Koenigsberg of Vancouver and the late Mrs. Koenigsberg, was married Friday to Gerald F. Levenston, son of Mrs. F.J. Levenston of Toronto and the late Mr. Levenston. The pair will live in Toronto.
